Schaeffler Mounting Toolbox – Knowledge About Rolling Bearing Mounting Online

When it comes to fitting rolling bearings, even small errors can have serious and costly consequences. The Schaeffler Mounting Toolbox is a web-based source of information on how to professionally install rolling bearings. Users can learn about what tools and fitting aids are needed, and short video sequences are also provided to demonstrate how these are used. A virtual factory hall serves as an interface and allows interactive navigation. You only need internet access to be able to look over the shoulder of one of Schaeffler's mounting service technicians. The Mounting Toolbox provides details of tools and accessories, and demonstrates the advantages of properly mounted rolling bearings, such as a longer operating life for the bearing, fewer unplanned downtimes, and a higher degree of machine availability. Moreover, correct aligning and lubrication can achieve a better energy efficiency of machine or machinery.

Topics Divided into Three Pillars

The virtual factory hall contains three pillars, which represent the main topics of the Mounting Toolbox: Mounting / dismounting, aligning, and lubrication. The subtopics are displayed as drawers in the pillars and can be opened by clicking with the mouse. These contain the tools and fitting aids that are shown in the videos. The user is also given an insight into the different mounting methods, as well as general safety guidelines and preparations.

Videos Show the Mounting Experts in Action

To view the videos and get an insight into professional mounting, simply click on the camera symbol on the relevant pillar. The pillars will then disappear and five machines will appear in their place. By clicking on one of the machines, the user can zoom in on it and view the rolling bearings it contains. The experts show how these bearings are fitted and dismantled in short film sequences.

Get the Information You Need, Quickly

Internet access is all you need to access the virtual factory hall and learn more about real rolling bearing mounting. The topics are displayed in the form of pillars, drawers, and machines, so everything is structured clearly. An additional navigation option provides a quick overview of all topics at a glance. The website also includes additional information, such as the range of training courses available at Schaeffler and how to contact the Schaeffler mounting service. The Mounting Toolbox is currently available in German, English and Russian. Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Chinese versions are in progress and will be put online once completed.
